Welcome to my world, this blog is nothing more than the randomness that dominates my life. Enjoy.

There goes Peter Cottontail... I think the Easter traditions went with him.

Easter, Family and Tradition

This Easter, I got to come home. Which is a treat in it's self because I usually am absent from family holiday get to gethers since I am usually working. Unfortunately Dan had to stay in the city and work. I am really missing him, I forget how funny and uplifting his presence is, when we're apart.

Being that it's Easter, I got up, got dressed up in my Easter dress and went to church. I remember when people used to get really dressed up for Easter. Going and shopping with my mom for our Easter clothes was a really big deal. Is this no longer the case? I wonder, because, I am not really the church going person. I mean I believe in a higher power- supreme being, if you will, but sitting in church has never been my thing. That being said, what has happened to looking nice? It's church and Easter on top of that- perhaps athletic shorts should be put aside for after services? All I could do throughout the entire time I sat there was stare at the horrible tattoo's on the woman in front of me. The artist in me was just itching to fix them.

Off of the Steph is standing on a soap-box again! On Saturday we had our Easter dinner with my mom's side of the family. All of my cousins have kids and let me tell you they were in full on happy hyper mode! It's kind of fun to watch all the kids, but it's also isolating for me. I have no kids, therefor no one really wants to talk to me. What do I have to contribute to the conversation? I have nothing to add when the conversation goes to diapers, sleepless nights and the stress of raising toddlers. I also have two cousins expecting babies in the summer so there will be even more kids next year. They're so cute though you can't help but laugh at them! I got to hide the eggs and I had so much fun watching the kids look for the eggs. I would like to say that hunting eggs is something I've  let fall by the wayside- what with being twenty-five years old, but no, at my step-dad's moms house we still hunt eggs. Of course there is money in them and I make a fool of myself every year!

I hope everyone's Easter was full of fun, chocolate bunnies and deviled eggs! Mine was almost perfect, just wishing my Danny could have got to be here with me!

Love and Easter-baskets-

Stephanie
