Team Pale Skin!!

Team Pale Skin!

My family background is Choctaw, (a Native American Tribe for those of you who don't know) Irish and French.  Most of my family tans very well, my sister especially gets this beautiful olive complexion... I burn and then go back to pale I'm exactly like my Nana she's very fair too.  I do not have red hair, not naturally anyway, but I am covered in freckles and my skin just gets paler as the years go by.  I guess it's because when I was seventeen or so I went to the dermatologist and had a few spots removed.  It scared the bejesus out of me, because, they kept talking about skin cancer and how I would always have to worry about my freckles becoming to dark and turning into skin cancer.  That was all I needed to hear, I am a religious applier of sunscreen and like to wear hats and long sleeves, so really how could I ever hope to become tan?

My Nana... yes this is where my skin tone come from! But doesn't she look fab- this was in the late 60's.

Me and my family at my brothers graduation... I am the pale one in the picture by the way.  My mom, brother, sister, step-dad and even Dan are all darker than me!

Tan in a can, it works, it's messy, you have to wait for it to dry and then worry about reapplying it- but not too much or then you'll be orange.  I don't like to look like a member of the Jersey Shore, thanks ever so much.  I am usually proud of my pale skin, I think it makes me look a little bit unique in a crowd of tananorexic people... you know the ones that stare at their skin and say, "Oh no! I'm pale! I'm pasty, better go back to the tanning salon!" Even though it's all in their heads and they should really stop while their a head.
We've been told to be tan for ages, maybe we should embrace the paler side of things?

Seriously who wants to look like this?

And on a side note who really wants to lay in a tanning bed next to naked or naked for some people in a bed that other people have been naked in.  Excuse me while I go vomit imagining about that one!  I don't care if it's been cleaned or not, your naked ass is laying where someone else's was... sick.

So anyways, what do you think is pale skin in or will tanners always win??

Love and Sunscreen,

Stephanie
